2013 World Car of the Year finalists revealed

The finalists for the World Car of the Year Awards have been revealed just prior to the finale at the New York Auto Show.

In the race to the title the main contenders include the Mercedes A-Class, Porsche Boxster / Cayman, Toyota GT 86 / Scion FR-S / Subaru BRZ and Volkswagen Golf VII. The World Performance Car of Year candidates include the above mentioned Porsche Boxster / Cayman and Toyota GT 86 / Scion FR-S / Subaru BRZ as well as the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta.

Morever, finalists for the World Green Car of the Year include the Renault Zoe, Tesla Model S and Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid. Finally to finish it off the Aston Martin Vanquish, Jaguar F-Type or Mazda6 will be the recipient of the world Car Design of the Year.

Let us hope that the deserving candidates take the honours for being best in their respective categories.
