BMW has recently announced the 2014 M5, M6 Coupe, Convertible and Gran Coupe facelifts which will be offered with an optional Competition Package.
As standard, the 4.4-liter V8 engine generates 560 HP (412 kW) but with the optional Competition Package it can produce 575 HP (423 kW). The engine is connected to a seven-speed M dual clutch gearbox and an Active M Differential at the rear axle. As a result of this, the car will be able to achieve 0-62 mph (0-100 kmph) 0.1 seconds quicker than before, while 0-124 mph (0-200 kmph) would take 0.2 seconds less.
The optional Competition package comes with other features such as M carbon ceramic brakes, updated suspension and damping systems, tuned stabilizer bars, 10mm lowered ride height, new hydraulic rack-and-pinion steering with M-specific Servotronic function, bespoke 20-inch M alloys and a sport exhaust system with custom M black chrome twin tailpipes.
As standard feature, they come with xenon headlights but BMW is offering an optionial adaptive LED headlights. The M kidney grille now comes with the model designation and its slats mirror the double-spoke design of the M wheels, while the rear of the cars have lightly revised LED taillamps.
In the interiors, the steering wheel has been updated and now there is more storage compartment available under the armrest in the center console. Other changes worth mentioning include chrome trim on the sides of the iDrive, and clients can opt for a Touch Controller with a touch-sensitive surface for additional amount.
BMW will offer the M5 facelift with new exterior paint hues, Pure Metal Silver, Frozen Blue metallic, Pyrite Brown metallic, along with more BMW Individual matt paintwork finishes. The company will also offer bespoke leather shades like Nutmeg and Cashmere Beige.
