2014 BMW X4 returns with less camo in new spy pics

by SpeedLux

The BMW X4 has been spied yet again in production guise, this time wearing slightly less camo as compared to earlier spied images.

The 2014 BMW X4 will be fully revealed at the 2014 NAIAS that will be held in Detroit in January 2014 and talking about designing, it will basically be a smaller X6 riding on the X3 platform. These recent spy images depict a prototype featuring less disguise and so we also got a chance of having a look at the X4 with the M Sport package.

Under the hood, the engine choices will include the familiar 2.0-liter 4-cylinder TwinPower Turbo rated at 240 hp (179 kW), a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder diesel outputting 184 hp (137 kW) and a TwinPower Turbo inline-six producing 300 hp (224 kW) and a maximum torque of 406 Nm (300 lb-ft).

The production ready model will follow a concept that was showcased by BMW earlier this year during the Shanghai Motor Show. We do not expect too many significant differences between the two but the car that will reach the dealerships will be slightly toned down.

We expect more details to be revealed by the company soon as the official launch of the model comes near.
