2014 BMW X5 M spied with minimal camouflage

by SpeedLux

A prototype of the BMW X5 M was caught on camera recently but this time wearing a minimal amount of camouflage prior to an unveiling set for next year 2014.

Now that the third-gen BMW X5 has been released, the company is giving the finishing touches to the range-topping M version which will come with features that include large air intakes in the front bumper as well as beefy blue brake calipers, a roof-mounted spoiler and an M quad exhaust.

Under the hood, power will be provided by the same V8 4.4-liter twin-turbo gasoline engine but with likely revised increased output from the 555 HP (408 kW) and 680 Nm (502 lb-ft) available in the previous generation. Thanks to a lower weight, the 2014 BMW X5 M will be able to accelerate to 0-62 mph (0-100 kmph) in less than the 4.7 seconds which the old model needed. We can expect the top speed to be once again electronically-capped at 155 mph (250 kmph).

The 2014 BMW X5 M will likely be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2014 and can be expected to go on sale shortly after that.
