2014 BMW Z4 Showcased at Detroit

BMW has unveiled the 2014 Z4 roadster at the Detroit Auto Show.

Moderately revised, the model carries bi-xenon headlights, new side indicators and restyled 17- and 18-inch alloy wheels. There’s also an color option with Mineral Grey metallic, Glacier Silver metallic and Valencia Orange metallic being the original ones.

The vibrant car is also the recipient of the M Sport package that includes an sleek body kit, an M Sport suspension and 18-inch light-alloy wheels. The package also includes sport seats, an M steering wheel and “Aluminum Carbon” trim.

On the Inside part, changes are restricted but include new Fineline Anthracite wood trim, additional gloss black accents and a BMW Connected Drive Services option which allows users to listen to internet radio.

Engine options are similar but excludes the new Z4 sDrive18i which has a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder that develops 156 HP (115 kW) and 240 Nm (177 lb-ft) of torque. When attached with a six-speed manual transmission, the vehicle speeds up from 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and hits a top speed of 221 km/h (137 mph).
With the efficiency being the main focus area, the model averages 6.8 L/100km (41.5 mpg UK / 34.6 mpg US) with CO2 emissions of 159 g/km.

Pricing for the above model is still unknown but European sale is slated for march 2013 followed by a launch in the US in August.
