Chevrolet and GMC have introduced the 2014 Silverado and Sierra at the Detroit Auto Show.
Designed to compete with the Ford F-150 and Ram 1500, the carriers have an unique design with a prominent grille,
larger headlights and a dual ‘power dome’ hood. There’s also flared fenders and a new CornerStep rear bumper which allows to have easy entry to the bed. Enlarged cab models also benefit from new front-hinged rear doors for improved entry and exit.
Both the trucks have an updated interior that displays a new dashboard as well as a six-gauge instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch Driver Information Center. There is an option to order leather upholstery, heated seats and a MyLink infotainment system.
Moreover three new EcoTec3 engines are available including a 4.3-liter V6, a 5.3-liter V8 and a 6.2-liter V8.
Detailed specifications are not out yet, but the engines showcases direct injection, continuously variable valve timing and cylinder deactivation technology.
Both the trucks are expected to go on sale later this year and prices will be announced at a later date.
