General MotorsChevrolet SS has been always in the news in some way or the other. Recently however the news was put to rest when GM finally decided to get the name trademarked after a long use of more than 40 years.

There have been some rumors off lately that the GM may launch Chevrolet SS Performance in the United States soon. If the rumors are to be believed, Holden Commodore SS (earlier used as Pontiac G8) may put on the badge of 2014 SS Performance.

The car has been updated with a new engine which is LS3 6.3 liter V8 engine with the output capacity of 425 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque. The gearbox will feature six-speed auto transmission gear which would be connected to the engine.

It seems GM has decided to give some tough competition to its competitors such as Ford Taurus SHO and Charger R/T.
