Chevrolet has decided to celebrate 60 years of Corvette production in style by unveiling the 2014 Corvette Stingray Premiere Edition. The unveiling was done at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
The Premiere Edition model is based on the range-topping 3LT coupe and has a Laguna Blue Metallic exterior with a visible carbon fiber roof and a carbon flash hood stinger stripe. It is also equipped with Torque-style chrome wheels that have stingray logos in the center. The Brownstone sueded microfiber interior comes well equipped with carbon fiber trim and an individually-numbered plaque. There’s also “Stingray” branded sill plates and special floor mats provided inside the cabin.
The model comes fitted with a 6.2-liter LT1 V8 engine that can generate 460 hp (343 kW) and 465 lb-ft (630 Nm) of torque which is mainly due to the performance exhaust system. It is connected to a seven-speed manual transmission that should enable the model to touch the speed from 0-60 mph in just 3.8 seconds.
The car has also been equipped with magnetic ride control and Z51 Performance Package that includes aerodynamic styling tweaks, an electronic limited-slip differential, a dry-sump oiling system and an upgraded cooling system.
