The first images of the Ford Ka concept has surfaced on the web, following the car’s reveal in Brazil.
There were rumors doing rounds about the Ka’s demise but last month we saw some spy photos with a small Ford prototype which we assumed it was the Ka. Thankfully our assumption was right as the Blue Oval company won’t kill the Ka as they just unveiled a near-production concept in Brazil which previews the next generation set to go on sale in 2014.
The model looks like a shrunken Fiesta with the now familiar Aston Martin-like front grille and other typical Ford cues. From the images the car appears to be pretty much production-ready, except maybe for some minute detailing such as the headlights which resemble the ones seen on the Escort concept.
The company did not release full specifications but Brazilian media is reporting that the car will come equipped with a naturally-aspirated 1.0-liter three-cylinder rated at 80 HP (59 kW), along with a 1.5-liter outputting 111 HP (82 kW) when running on ethanol and 107 HP (79 kW) when running on gasoline.
The company has plans to sell Ka in Brazil only initially and thereafter in other emerging markets.
