The Japan based automaker, Honda recently announced the official pricing details of the 2014 Honda Accord Plug-in-hybrid in the Los Angeles Auto show, which has been set at $39,780.
The PHEV surpassed the Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid with its 95 MPGe and the Ford C-MAX Energi’s 100 MPGe, the 2014 Honda Accord Plug-in Hybrid achieved the highest EPA MPGe rating in its class of 115 MPGe. So according to the Automaker, the 2014 Honda Accord is powered by a 2.0 liter four-cylinder Earth Dreams Atkinson gasoline engine, which is producing 137 horsepower, along with a 124 kW electric motor and a 6.7 kWh Lithium-ion battery pack, and the total output developed by the hybrid is 196hp. The Electric vehicle can be charged in less than 3 hours by using a standard 120-volt household electric outlet or in less than one hour when using a 240-volt charger.
The new Accord Plug-in Hybrid will go on sale in California and New York starting from the 15th of January, 2013.
