The all new Sedan is set to make its official debut at the Detroit auto show. The design is a carefully prepared model that will face solid rivalry from its competitors the BMW 3-Series, Mercedes C-Class and also the new Lexus IS. Compared to the previous edition of the Japanese luxury car in particular it looks a bit dull despite having a new avatar.

The engine specifications announced for the US market will include a 3.7-liter V6 with 328 horsepower and a hybrid system combining a 296 hp 3.5-liter V6 and an electric motor, producing 354 horsepower in total.

The European version is likely to have a turbodiesel engine as well. Transmission alternative are restricted to the new 7-speed automatic, which can send the power to the back or to all four wheels.

“This morning we are about to launch Infiniti on a bold new journey, a new Infiniti brand direction built on a foundation of our past and guided by a clear vision for the future,” said Infiniti president Johan de Nysschen. “And it starts right here today with the new Infiniti Q50, a vehicle that clearly crystallizes the design, performance and technology direction for a new generation of Infiniti vehicles.”

Car performance, features and other details are likely to be released at the auto show, till then let us enjoy the picture gallery.
