Jeep has released formal pictures of the 2014 Cherokee well ahead of its debut at the New York Auto Show.
While the Cherokee’s design is likely to create some ripples, we can see that the crossover will have a curved grille, slender headlights and a shaped hood. It also has plastic body cladding, chrome trim and swoopy shoulder line.
We can be easily convinced that the Cherokee is not as ugly as anybody thinks. The photos try to portray the model in a damn good condition. But the pictures show a higher-end version that has more body-color trim than the model posted earlier. This, combined with lack of evidence helps to make the model seem slightly less hideous.
Jeep refused to release engine specifications, but at the most we can expect a 2.4-liter four-cylinder and a 3.2-liter V6. There is also possibility of a 2.0- and 3.0-liter diesel for Europe. Irrespective of what is offered, Jeep is of the view that the model will have better capability, excellent driving techniques and fuel economy improvements of more than 45 percent against the outgoing mid-size SUV model.
The 2014 Jeep Cherokee will be manufactured in the US and sales are likely to begin later this year.
