Secret pictures of the 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class has once again come out in the open which is due later this year or in early 2014.
The next-gen C-Class is likely to carry a new set of wider wraparound headlights taking design tips from the CLS and will most likely be labelled one level above. The front grille will possibly have a more oval shape, while the overall appearance of the car will be sportier than current C-Class.
It will have the advantage of being based on the MRA platform and is expected to have a curb weight of less than 1,380 kg for the base C160 model. Despite going slimmer, the next-gen C-Class will probably be 100mm longer with 80mm of the added length kept aside for the wheelbase.
Power will get boost from a vertically mounted 4-cylinder and V6 engines with output ranging from 184 hp (137 kW) to 330 hp (246 kW). A gasoline-electric hybrid model carrying a 27 hp (20 kW) electric motor is also under consideration for a possible 2015 launch, while the top of the range AMG version will get a V8 4.0- or a 5.5-liter engine. The upgraded version will be out in 2017 and will bring a nine-speed automatic transmission.
