Mercedes-Benz has revealed the 2014 GLA, ahead of the car’s public debut scheduled at the Frankfurt Motor Show to be held in September.
The GLA is a high-riding A-Class with features such as a more muscular body, bigger alloys, roof rails, a dual exhaust arrangement, tailgate-mounted spoiler and an almost identical interior cabin. In terms of dimensions, the compact crossover is 4417mm long, 1804mm wide and 1,494mm tall. It has a cargo space of 421 liters with the rear seats up and 836 liters once you fold the seats down. It also comes with an optional Load Compartment package which increases the load area by 60 liters without having to fold the rear seats.
Gasoline engines comes fitted with a 1.6-liter engine with output of 156 HP (115 kW) in the GLA 200 and a 2.0-liter rated at 211 HP (155 kW) in the GLA 250. On the diesel side, the GLA 200 CDI comes with a 2.2-liter generating 136 HP (100 kW) and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque while the GLA 220 CDI comes with a 2.2-liter with 170 HP (125 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque.
The model will be up for sale in UK at the end of November, with deliveries commencing early next year.
