2014 Mercedes-Benz GLA with taxi sign spied on the Nurburgring

by SpeedLux

A prototype of the Mercedes-Benz GLA with a roof-mounted taxi sign has been spotted testing on the tracks of the Nürburgring.

The A-Class-based crossover has been spied quite a number of times during testing procedures but for the first time it has featured with a taxi sign. This could probably mean that Mercedes-Benz will sell the GLA also as a commercial vehicle most likely with a front-wheel drive layout and a diesel engine of 1.8 liter and an output of 134 HP (100 kW).

The GLA will essentially be a high riding A-Class model with bulging rear fenders, tailgate-mounted spoiler and a two-bar grille. It will also be offered in a GLA 45 AMG version which would be powered by a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine capable of generating 360 HP (265 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque.

The 2014 Mercedes-Benz GLA will be unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show to be held in September in Germany. So we can expect more details to be revealed soon or probably before the launch of the model and also we will come to know about the taxi suspense soon.
