The current production Aston Martin Rapide is not the first Aston with rear doors.
Not too long ago there was a luxury four door Aston Martin Lagonda with a total production of just 645 units between 1974 and 1990.
The name was derived from the Lagonda marque that Aston Martin had purchased in 1947 and reportedly the Lagonda name is soon making a comeback first as a sedan and later as a luxury SUV.
The sedan is already out testing and is developed Aston Martin’s Q division as a limited production model.
The rendering you see above is done by Wild Speed taking into account the prototype pictures that have been captured by different media outlets and also the design of the now classic Aston Martin Lagonda.
The styling is quite unique and will not win everyone over, but it clearly stands out from other luxury high-performance sedans.
The new Aston Martin Lagonda rides on a stretched VH platform and power is expected to come from a 6.0-liter V12 engine producing 565 hp and 620 Nm of torque.
Possible public debut is in early 2015.
