Recently the next generation of the Audi Q7 has been caught on camera while undergoing testing near the European beaches.
This new SUV from Ingolstadt will ride on Volkswagen Group’s new MLB architecture which is also expected to underpin some of the cool models like the Bentley crossover, Lamborghini Urus, along with the next generations of the Touareg and Porsche Cayenne. Thanks to the platform switch, the next-gen Audi Q7 is expected to be lighter by no less than 800 lbs (363 kg).
Unconfirmed but the model is due most likely in the later part of 2014 as a 2015 make year model. The next-gen Audi Q7 will quite likely be offered with a variety of engines including a V6 3.0-liter TFSI outputting 310 HP (228 kW) and a larger V8 4.0-liter twin-turbo producing 435 HP (320 kW). In diesel, the options include a V6 3.0-liter TDI with an output of 258 HP (190 kW) and a V8 4.2-liter TDI rated at 385 HP (283 kW). There are quite a few chances of Audi planning a plug-in hybrid derivative which should use a 3.0-liter TDI and an electric motor outputting 115 HP (84 kW).
