If the recently unveiled second-generation BMW X6 looks boring and you want something sportier, but don’t have the patience to wait for the hot X6 M with over 550 hp and aggressive looks, then the M Sport package will do the work.
It is not as aggressive looking as the X6 M, but surely sportier than the standard model.
The aerodynamic package body kit includes a new updated front bumper, revised side skirts and a rear diffuser insert. Other exterior changes over the standard model include a matte aluminum grille, chrome exhaust tips, body color wheel arches, shadow line trim, an Adaptive M suspension and 19-inch lightweight alloy wheels.
The interior is home for the leather / Alcantara sport seats, a sport steering wheel, aluminum hexagon trim, anthracite roof liner, an alloy footrest and M-branded door sill plates.
Customers can choose between two diesels and one gasoline engine.
The entry level 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder diesel produces 258 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque, while the tri-turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel engine produces 381 hp and 545 lb-ft of torque.
The single gasoline unit is a 4.4-liter TwinPower Turbo V8 engine with 450 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque.
U.S. customers have different choices and are getting no diesels. Just the twin-turbo V8 and a less powerful 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder gasoline engine with 300 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque.
The X6 with M Sport Package will go on sale in late 2014.
