A mule of the second generation Ferrari California has been caught on camera recently undergoing testing in southern part of Europe.

The car that has been spied by the spy photographers appears to have some changes around the exhaust system and according to some of the sources, Ferrari was testing the chassis and engine of the new California which the company says that they will be considerably louder.

The more powerful soundtrack must have something to do with the statement made by Ferrari CEO Amedeo Felisa regarding the company’s plans to introduce a turbocharged engine. There are chances that the new California may make use of a twin-turbo V8 mill without the involvement of any hybrid tech since the company claims that their engineers have figured out another way to reduce turbo lag.

The executive also hinted that the vehicle will borrow the Side Slip Angle Control system from the 458 Speciale and it will come equipped with an upgraded infotainment system. The second-gen Ferrari California will probably be revealed towards the end of 2014 before going on sale in early 2015.
