New details are now starting to emerge about the 2015 Ferrari California.
According to Motor Trend’s sources, the car will come fitted with a twin-turbo V8 engine that is closely related to the Maserati Quattroporte’s twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 that is able to generate 530 HP (390 kW) and 710 Nm (524 lb-ft) of torque. Specifications details are yet to be released but engine will reportedly be equipped with a number of unique components.
If we have to compare, the current California has a naturally-aspirated 4.3-liter V8 engine that generates an output of 490 HP (360 kW) and 505 Nm (372 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the car to achieve the 0-100 kmph (0-62 mph) sprint in just 3.8 seconds and can hit a top speed of 312 kmph (194 mph).
Besides getting a new engine, the California is slated to feature aluminum body work and a power folding hardtop. There are reports which also indicate that a new infotainment system which could be loosely based on Chrysler’s UConnect system could also make its way to the cabin.
The California could be introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2014 before going on sale in late 2014.
