Jaguar’s entry-level sedan Jaguar XS has been spied undergoing testing at the Nürburgring tracks.

The company has plans to launch the new entry-level sedan at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show to be held in September where Jaguar will also reveal its plans for a crossover. Both models will utilize the Premium Lightweight Architecture (PLA) and will be out in the second half of 2015, and the production is expected to take place at the Land Rover factory in Solihull in England.

In this video, a prototype of the entry-level sedan (which is likely to be called as XS or XE) can be seen and is wearing the body of the larger XF but with shortened doors, modified roofline, rear deck lopped off, lowered headlights and a different exhaust.

The baby Jaguar is likely to come fitted with a 4-cylinder, 2.2-liter diesel rated at 163 HP (120 kW) and 200 HP (147 kW), together with a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine with output of 240 HP (177 kW). A turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine with output of 240 HP (176 kW) is also quite possible, along with a more powerful supercharged 3.0-liter V6 mill with 340 HP (250 kW).
