It seems that the automaker MG from China is just about to start gaining a boost of its popularity for the past few months. A number of media have been reporting about what the company is up to. One example is that the company in question was previously known to be working on the GS vehicle model. Now, a production ready version of the vehicle has already been caught on camera.
The car was spotted without any camouflage in its home country, China. There were not one but four spy photos depicting the vehicle that have become available worldwide. Some sources mention that the photos of the Chinese SUV were captured while it was undergoing a dealer presentation of sorts. Regardless of whether this is true or not, it is pretty exciting all the same to find out what this particular vehicle from the Chinese automaker will actually have in store.
Well, to begin with, this new car from MG will come with attractively looking headlamps. Just like any other modern day cars, the car will also have its headlamps accompanied by LED daytime running lights. In addition to that, onlookers can also see a lot of chrome trims available on the vehicle. This Chinese SUV is also seen sitting on a set of bespoke alloy wheels with a 2-tone paint job.
Known formerly as either the CS or the GTS, the new MG GS is slated for debut at the upcoming Shanghai Auto Show event that will take place in China April this year. MG is also planning to start accepting orders for the vehicle not so long after the opening of the event, at least for the Chinese market. The car will reportedly boast 167 hp and 250 Nm of power and torque, thanks to a 1.5L twin turbo engine paired with an automatic 7-speed dual clutch transmission. Alternatively, customers can also get 220 hp and 350 Nm of power and torque from a 2.0L engine variant that is mated to an automatic dual clutch transmission with 6 speeds.
