The most anticipated second-generation Porsche Boxster Spyder is finally out. Porsche says the new Spyder is both the most powerful and the fastest Boxster it has ever created. With 375 horsepower and a 3.8-liter flat-six borrowed from the 911 Carrera S, the Boxster Spyde can reach a top speed of 180 mph. It further comprises of a stripped-out interior, aero-optimizing body add-ons, unique fascias, a retuned suspension, and a minimalist fabric roof. The rear lid is made of aluminium, and the hood has an unheated polymer rear window.
The Spyder weighs 1315kg, which is 30 kgs less than the GTS. The fully electric steering is borrowed from the 911 Turbo which can tell us that Porsche isn’t compromising on any aspect with this new model. The Boxster Spyder is said to reach US dealerships by October with a price-tag of $83,095 for its basic variant.
