2016 Ford Testing Next Generation Super Duty

Someone has recently managed to snatch several images of what seems to be a Ford vehicle. Judging by the look of it, the car is probably the Super Duty for the 2016 model year from the aforementioned American automaker. The car was recently spotted while undergoing some factory tests in the US.

When it was caught on camera, the American pick-up truck was wearing heavy camouflage all over its body. Nonetheless, somehow, the camouflage gives away that the upcoming pick-up truck from Ford will be featuring a prominent front grille which looks similar to that of the infamous 2015 Ford F-150 Raptor. It can also be seen from the spy images that the new truck will sport huge tow mirrors as well as vertically designed taillights.

So far, the American automaker behind the development of the truck in question has been keeping its lips tightly sealed. However, rumor has it the car is going to have its body panels made of aluminum. A revised set of suspensions is also said to be involved this time and that it will have numerous aluminum components as well. Thanks to such design, the pick-up truck will most likely be considerably lighter than its outgoing model.

Unfortunately, when it comes to performance, there is no information just yet. However, it is not impossible at all that engines will carry over from the predecessor. If this is the case, the 2016 Ford Super Duty pick-up truck may as well feature a 6.2L V8 engine under the hood. This engine is capable of spitting out 385 bhp of power and 548 Nm of torque. For an alternative, the car may also carry a turbocharged 6.7L Power Stroke diesel engine. The latter has 440 bhp of power and 1,164 Nm of torque.
