One month ago, the luxury British automaker introduced its latest XF model. Now, the second generation variant of the company’s mid-size luxury sedan has officially made it to the stage of the 2015 New York Auto Show event.
Set to take the place of its predecessor, the car comes with an almost identical weight distribution ratio of 50:50, to begin with. Its body is made of highly strong aluminum material and its total weight has been reduced that the car is now lighter by 190 kg when compared to its older brother. For the comfort of the driver, Jaguar has also equipped the new XF model with the Integral Link and double wishbone suspensions and either a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic transmission system.
Stepping into the cabin of the 2016 XF from the luxury British marquee, customers will find a massive infotainment system with a touchscreen display measuring 10.2 inches diagonally, a 12.3 inch TFT instrument panel that can even be reconfigured, a Meridian digital surround audio system featuring 17 speakers, a solid state drive for the sake of data storage and also a quad-core CPU powering its onboard vehicle infotainment system.
Under the hood, buyers of this vehicle model in particular can expect to enjoy the power provided by a 2.0L Ingenium turbodiesel engine. This engine gives out a power output that ranges from 163 to 180 HP and a torque that ranges from 380 to 430 Nm. A bigger 3.0L V6 turbodiesel engine with twin turbochargers is available as well. This one has 300 HP and 700 Nm of power and torque. Yet, for the ultimate option, customers can choose to spend their money on a supercharged 3.0L V6 engine that bursts out no less than 380 HP and 450 Nm of power and torque, respectively. The latter is available on the S trim of the model.
