It is no longer a secret that the luxury division of the Japanese automaker Toyota, Lexus, is currently planning a completely new F model. The model will make its debut at the upcoming North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) which will take place at Detroit, US. However, it seems that the F model is not the only vehicle lineup in the company’s pipeline. There are reports of a redesigned RX and this car, too, will come to the auto expo at Detroit.
Unfortunately, up to this very moment, there are not too many details available regarding the 2016 Lexus RX. However, executives from inside the company have managed to indicate that the new RX is very likely to come with a size that is larger than that of its predecessor. According to these insider executives, this will help the redesigned RX to stand apart from other vehicle lineups from Lexus, especially the one with the NX badge on it. In addition to that, unlike in the case of its predecessor, the 2016 model year Lexus RX is quite likely to come with third row seats. This information, however, has yet to be confirmed officially.
Those wondering about the spec sheet that the car will have under its skin will also have to wait further. Lexus is, at the moment, not willing to reveal about the engine options that the car will have. Nonetheless, a number of analysts in the auto industry believe that the engine options Lexus will offer for the redesigned RX will be similar with those of its predecessor. The only thing that will change is perhaps the 6-speed automatic transmission. As reported by the Edmunds auto news channel, this transmission may well be replaced by Lexus with an 8-speed automatic transmission instead in the future.
