No matter how hard automakers in the world try to cover up their upcoming vehicle creations, it seems that there will always be some people that, somehow, get the opportunity to snatch some spy images of those upcoming vehicle models. This is just what happens to the 2016 model year RX from Lexus. Well, the car had actually been previewed sometime earlier, yet, it is always interesting to see on the spy images what the new mid-size crossover from the luxury Japanese automaker has to offer, despite the fact that it is fully wrapped in camouflage.
The car had been spotted recently while it was undergoing some factory evaluations around the streets in the city of Brussels in Belgium. Unfortunately, due to the heavy camouflage, the spy images of the car do not reveal the sloping roofline that was shown in the official image of the car shown by Lexus some time ago. However, the spy images don’t prevent us from spotting that the car is most likely to come with a rather blocky set of wheel arches. In addition to that, a third brake lamp can also be seen integrated into the prominently designed roof spoiler.
In spite of the scarcity of technical details of the vehicle so far, the car can be seen growing in terms of size. It is also reported that the car may even accommodate seven passengers altogether. As for its mobility, the car packs a 3.5L V6 engine that delivers 270 bhp of power. The engine is likely to be mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
The 2016 Lexus RX will be making its world premiere come April 1, 2015, as the New York Auto Show kicks off.
