2016 Lincoln MKS to offer a new 2.9-liter EcoBoost V6

The Lincoln MKS may not have been among the most liked models but the company is trying its best to do better for the next time around.

According to a recent report, the 2016 MKS will be a Taurus-based flagship model that would borrow some cues from the MKC crossover. We can also expect plenty of chrome trim and 1970s-inspired kinks in the side windows and rear shoulder line.

The company did not confirm about the engine options but the sources have indicated that the model will be offered with a new 2.9-liter EcoBoost V6 engine that would produce approximately 300 hp (223 kW). The 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine should also carryover and it should be able to generate at least 365 hp (272 kW).

Both the engines will allegedly be connected to a six-speed automatic transmission gearbox but it will eventually be replaced by nine-speed gearbox that is being developed jointly with General Motors. Just like its earlier model, the front-wheel drive will be standard while all-wheel drive will be an optional feature.

Well we can only hope this time Lincoln MKS gets better response and fan following and the company gets the best out of its upcoming flagship model.
