The enhanced 2017 Chevrolet Colorado midsize pickup truck will hit Chevrolet showrooms in the fourth quarter with numerous upgrades, as per General Motors.
They consist of a new eight-speed automatic transmission, replacing a six-speed, and a brand-new 3.6-liter V6 engine that provides 308 horse power and 275 pound-feet of torque. That’s an enhancement of 3 hp and 6 lb-ft compared with the 2016 Colorado’s engine.
The new V6 engine includes upgraded variable valve timing, modified direct injection and cylinder deactivation to enhance fuel economy. The EPA has not rated the 2017 Colorado.
The new eight-speed transmission features a larger 7.0 general gear ratio, according to General Motors.
“This leads to a numerically higher first-gear ratio, helping drivers start off more confidently with a heavy load or when trailering,” General Motors stated.
Prices on the Colorado will be announced better to its launch.
Major competitors to the Colorado are probably the Honda Ridgeline, Nissan Frontier and Toyota Tacoma.
