And Audi Q5 becomes the most awarded Audi SUV/crossover
Two Audi crossovers have achieved the highest possible ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The firm awarded the Audi Q5 and Q7 5-Star Safety Ratings.
To accomplish the 5-Star score, NHTSA tested both crossovers under the firm’s New Car Assessment Program (NCAP). NHTSA Car Safety Program NHTSA bases an automobile’s ratings on the results of front and side collision tests, plus an evaluation of rollover resistance. “Having the Q5 and Q7 achieve the highest safety score from NHTSA shows our commitment to make general crashworthiness and remarkable driver support programs a top concern for our consumers,” Scott Keogh, president, Audi of America, stated.
Audi’s Q5 and Q7 include systems that help drivers browse the road and traffic with boosted ease and assurance. For example, Audi’s basic pre sense ® basic can prepare a vehicle for effect by closing the side windows and panoramic sunroof, where as pre-tensioning the front seat belts, if it senses an approaching accident. Pre sense city can start full braking at speeds of as much as 52 mph if it spots a crash. Also, the system determines stationary cars and pedestrians. The final piece of the pre sense system– rear– keeps an eye on traffic behind the vehicle and starts actions just like the standard part of the system. Audi’s side-assist gives blindspot monitoring with LED indicators developed into each sideview mirror housing.
With this award, Audi Q5 has become the most awarded Audi SUV or crossover of this year. Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) had also called the 2018 Q5 a Top Safety Pick, making a “superior” for front crash prevention when geared up with the available driver support and basic front crash prevention system.
