We are going to have the images and information about 2018 Jeep Wrangler in a couple of weeks at the LA Auto Show, but this trio of images reveals the new Jeep completely, and it’s exactly what we’ve been expecting.
Jeep has not discussed the specifics as of this writing, only verifying there will be “dozens of different door, top, and windshield combinations,” according to the business’s official press release. The Wrangler will continue to be provided with two doors or four, difficult- and soft-top choices, and an evolutionary design that remains true to the renowned Jeep shape. There’s apparently a Wrangler pickup in the works, as well, however that won’t come out for some more years.
Under the hood, we’re informed there will be “advanced fuel-efficient powertrains,” though again, information are not available. Rumor has it we’ll see a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a turbodiesel option, electrified hybrid versions, or perhaps even an upgraded variation of the 3.6-liter V6 utilized in the current model, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Obviously, the Wrangler will include the latest, most advanced variation of Jeep’s four-wheel-drive system. This needs to be the king of the off-road world, anyway.
Being a Wrangler, this model will be customizable. In fact, Jeep is showing up at the SEMA show to reveal over 200 Mopar devices that’ll be available for the 2018 Wrangler once it goes on sale next year. Cargo racks, light bars, off-road help and more.
We will get to know more on November 29, when Jeep reveals the Wrangler at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show.
