3 killed after car crash in Charles County, Maryland

Three people were killed after a head-on crash on Sunday night in Charles County, Maryland.

Officials responded to a report of a crash that took place on Hawthorne Road at Ripley way around 8 p.m. and saw the involvement of two vehicles.

The investigation has so far shown that a van and a car crashed head-on.

Three people were pronounced dead at the scene.

They have been identified as Patrick Bowie Jr., 44, of La Plata; Tineka Palmer, 33, of Indian Head; and Tyron Carroll, 33, also of Indian Head.

Bowie was driving a Chrysler Pacifica while Palmer was driving a Chevrolet Impala and Carroll was her passenger.

It is yet to be known what caused the crash. Maryland State Police is investigating the incident.
