600 hp BMW M8 to be out in 2016

BMW‘s top model will receive the M8 mark when it will come out in 2016, according to M division chief Friedrich Nitschke.

The M8 is likely to share the carbon fiber and aluminum underpinnings of the i8 plug-in hybrid supercar.
Instead of the i8’s 3-cylinder 1.5-liter engine, the M8 is expected to have a twin-turbo V8 engine which will produce approximately 600 hp (447 kW) and which would allow the car to reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3 seconds and hit a top speed of about 200 mph (322 km/h).

Known as the BMW M1 before, It is expected that the M8 could actually prove to be a very light car given the fact that the i8 weighs 1,480 kg (3,262 lbs), with 200 kg (440 lbs) of the weight belonging to electric motor and batteries.

If the above concept is given the go ahead from the BMW Boss, then most likely the car would make its debut a year earlier in 2015, before going on sale the following year.

Given the fact that it can reach 100 km/h in 3 seconds is the proof of its speed and agility with which it travels. The M8 is one of the fastest car in the BMW stable and it can prove to be a good match for its rivals having similar characteristics.
