by Ionut Dragomir

Swedish supercar maker Koenigsegg celebrates 15 years of making dream cars, by unleashing a new model – the Koenigsegg Agera.

Agera is Swedish verb and means to “to act”. Agera is also short for the Greek word Ageratos, which in ancient Greek means “ageless”. Power comes from the in house built 4.7-liter twin-turbo V8(also power the CCX) that produces 910 horsepower at 6850 rpm and 1100 Nm of torque (811 lb-ft) at 5100 rpm.

The Agera weighs 1290 kg (2832 lbs) and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds, 200 km/h (124 mph) in 8.9 seconds and the top speed is 390+ km/h (245+ mph).

The Koenigsegg Agera will be produced in parallel to the CCX and CCXR models. No information yet is Agera an all new model or just an upgraded CCX. We should have the details in few days when it debuts in Geneva.
