Alfa Romeo 4C Spider Arrives at NAIAS

by SpeedLux

Only yesterday, we told you that a number of official and very revealing photos of the upcoming 4C Spider from Alfa Romeo had been leaked all over the World Wide Web pages. Now, the vehicle has actually arrived at this year’s North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) event.

The open top version of the Italian company’s 4C looks very similar to its coupe counterpart. However, the vehicle can be seen featuring sculpted side air intakes and of course, a retractable top made of cloth. As an alternative, the company is also offering an exposed hard top made of the carbon fiber material. Other notable differences that the roadster has compared to the coupe include revised headlamps that make the car look even more attractive than its coupe counterpart, LED taillights, an aerodynamic rear spoiler and also functional heat removers installed on the deck lid of the vehicle.

Stepping into the cabin, buyers will enjoy leather sport seats with a composite frame, leather steering wheel with a flat bottom, a colorful 7-inch digital instrument cluster, carbon fiber vent surrounds, Bluetooth, USB and iPod connectivity, SiriusXM radio, Alpine sound system and a set of aluminum pedals.

Under its bonnet, the 4C Spider from Alfa Romeo comes with a turbocharged 1.75L petrol engine that works by side a dual clutch transmission. As a result, the engine is capable of 177 hp of power and 350 Nm of torque in total. Also, the vehicle needs just 4.1 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/h and has a top speed of 258 km/h.

For those keen on buying the vehicle, they will not have to wait for long. The Italian automaker has stated officially that it will begin shipping the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider to the US and Canada this summer itself.
