Alfa Romeo 4C Spider Spotted in Spain

The Alfa Romeo 4C Spider was only previewed in the concept version during the Geneva Motor Show that took place last March 2014. According to the Italian automaker, the vehicle would not make it into production until at least the year 2015. Well, even though the car may be slated for debut at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show event in 2015, it seems that some people have already managed to snap some images of the open-top version of the 4C. Judging by the images, the final production version of the vehicle will be very nearly identical to the concept once shown by the company. The only difference, it seems, is the position of the twin exhaust pipes. This time around, they are located at both ends of the vehicle’s rear bumper.

There will also be extra cooling for the vehicle’s transmission, thanks to the additional air vent close to the right rear wheel. One thing that may prove to be a real relief here for potent buyers is that the roadster retains the design of headlamps visible on its concept. These headlamps look more attractive than those featured on the fixed roof version of the model, to be honest.

The roadster variant of the 4C is known to be coming with the carbon fiber chassis that is also featured on its coupe counterpart. In addition to that, the car will most likely pack the same engine as well, a 1.75L 4-cylinder engine. We are talking about 237 hp and 350 Nm of power output and torque here, respectively. Power is sent to the rear wheels by means of a 6-speed TCT dual clutch transmission.

Although the Italian automaker has yet to officially reveal the top speed of the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider, it will most likely lie somewhere around 257 km/h. The car will also most likely need just 4.5 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/h.
