The smallest SUV from the Ingolstadt based automaker, the Audi Q3 model is yet under wraps and it is indeed commendable for Audi to have been able to maintain it so. However, with the launch time coming closer there are leaks and some inside source has confirmed that the launch would be affected in the month of September or October.

The source also added that the Q3 would come in three variants based on the engine fit. There would be a 170 PS 2.0 liter TFSI with a 6 speed manual gearbox having CO2 emissions of 172 gr/km. There would also be the 211 PS 2.0 liter TFSI with an S Tronic transmission with CO2 emissions of 184 gr/km. Then there would also be the third variant comprising of 170 PS 2.0 liter TDI diesel engine mated to a S Tronic transmission having CO2 emission rate of 158 gr/km. With production starting there would be more engine options that would be added to the line up to come.

The VW Tiguan model would be the inspiration for the Q3 which includes the styling as well. The firm would be using its 2007 Shanghai Motor Show Concept for this purpose. The Q3 is expected to be placed after the Q7 and Q5 SUVs and is expected to give competition to the BMW X1. The Seat’s Martorell plant in Spain is the place where the Q3 would be produced at.
