Two women, aged 88 and 37, have been left “terribly shaken” after armed robbers took their vehicle with them in the back seats.
Authorities are investigating the “violent” incident in Stourbridge on Sunday.
It followed two masked men first robbed the One Stop store on Hungary Hill, where they threatened staff with hammers soon after 9pm.
A trip vehicle awaiting the men stalled, officers stated, leading them to turn their focus on the victims’ parked Ford Mondeo.
The suspects escaped in the car without noticing the two females in the rear seats.
They were dumped on the roadside numerous yards further on after the robbers understood they were in the vehicle. The car then sped off to Lye.
Investigating officer Sergeant Richard Narrowmore, from West Midlands Police, stated the same guys had also raided the Co-op in Glebe Lane, Norton, in comparable circumstances less than an hour prior to the incident.
In these 2 robberies, the suspects made off with money and cigarettes.
Discussing the car-jacking, Sergeant Narrowmore stated: “The more youthful woman was slightly hurt and both of them were extremely shaken by their experience, so we are eager to trace these men as soon as possible.”
“These were violent attacks with little thought for their victims and they need to be brought to justice quickly.”
The stolen automobile was recovered later in Bromley Street, Lye. Forensic assessments are under way on both the stolen car and the abandoned automobile, a silver Volkswagen Golf.
Officers are going through CCTV to see if they can recognize the men.
