Aston Martin plans to compete with Tesla by coming up with a new electric supercar called Aston Martin Rapide. Aston Martin Rapide is a four doors electric supercar will be powered by an 800 hp engine. The car will be equipped with a battery that can last up to 200 miles. The battery will be sourced from a reputable supplier such as Samsung. Andy Palmer, the CEO of Aston Martin told the news reporters that they will begin the production of the car within a time frame of 2 years. Aston Martin planned to produced hundreds of units every year.
The latest model from Tesla, P90D is powered with a 762 hp engine. Tesla P90D can travel at an incredibly fast speed within a time frame of 2.8 seconds. Aston Martin will probably not get a lot of demands for the car in the market. However, with Aston Martin now also developing an electric supercar, it shows that there is an increasing support for green car. It is estimated that the car will have a price range in between $200,000 – $250,000 when it is launched in the market.After debuting Aston Martin Rapide, Aston Martin planned to launch an all wheel drive crossover coupe.
