Called AM37, a new powerboat styled by Aston Martin and Quintessence Yachts for the Salone del Mobile, a city-wide design celebration in Milan. An Aston Martin news release states the boat was created to catch the “performance, handling, convenience, and design synonymous with Aston Martin”.
The whole press release, is actually filled with Aston Martin-esque buzzwords: design, sophistication, luxury, performance, performance, comfort, engineering, design. Aston Martin’s vehicles are stunning, and so is this boat. There’s a moving deck made of 3 carbon fiber panels that can cover the whole cockpit, securing it from the components (and undesirable guests)– and it’s remotely functioned at the click of a button.
It’s also sort of the yacht similar to a convertible. The rear deck pulls back so that a retractable sunshade can go up and over the passenger location. It has a variety of engine alternatives, but the fastest version– the AM37 S– has a pair of 520 horsepower engines that push the 37-foot boat to 52 knots. A “leisure” variation has a choice of dual 370 hp diesel engines, or two 430 hp gas systems.
If you wish to purchase one, you need to contact Quintessence Yachts, Aston’s partner for its venture into the yachting world. Price has actually not been disclosed. And this isn’t the first foray for an automaker into the yacht world. Although Bugatti created a $2.2 million yacht last year called the Ninette.
