A most recent report seem to be confirming or duplicating the report that was made public back in January this year. This new report confirms that the new Audi A3 is progressing on track as expected to the U.S. The report confirms Audi’s plan to take strategic advantage of the huge demand for luxury sedans in the US. Audi is therefore, expecting the potential for the A3 to be much higher due to its affordability. Hence, the automaker is aiming at achieving at a substantial sales figures once the Audi A3 debuts in the US market.
Industry analysts believed that the plan is quite sensible, realistic, and straightforward. Despite all the bias against the hatchback version, experts believe that most of American car shoppers would not mind doing away with the almost-a-wagon look for their future car purchases.
The expert analysts says that the A3 sedan, if debuted in the US market, would benefit from a segment that is not already over populated with competition from BMW or Mercedes. This is because the BMW 1-Series comes only in the coupe or convertible edition while the C-Class and 3-Series are larger A4-class vehicles. Therefore, the Audi’s A3, which is a compact luxury sports sedan car would find it easier to grab larger market share in the segment. In addition, the sport sedan could be a perfect selection when coupled with Audi’s TDI clean diesel.
There is no information with respect to the looks of the car. In addition, the sport car, which is built on the next generation A3 platform, is not expected to get into the full-fledged production until another year i.e. 2012. Experts in automobile industry through their analysis seem to convey that production version of the sports car will be identical to the hatch with a few exception to the rear profile. What this exception in rear profile means is that the sports sedan would come installed with dual-clutch gearboxes, a potent small four-cylinder turbo engine with TDI versions, and an option to choose from the front-wheel or a Quattro wheel drive. The production edition of the Audi A3 would also get some of the essential and the best interiors similar to the hatch.
