Audi R10 Supercar Rendering

There was news that Audi may come with a supercar based on its R18 Le Mans-winning racecar which would be a rival to LaFerrari and McLaren P1.

The rumors are now that the new racecar would be called as R10 and it may feature a hybrid powertrain consisting of 3.0 liter V6 diesel engine for the rear wheels and a set of electric motors to drive the front wheels.

The rendering has been released by TopSpeed and its designer which started off with the R8 and made necessary changes to suit the racecar requirements. The reason for taking cue from R8 is that the new supercar would have the R8 E-tron and hence based on R8.

As informed by Audi, the R10 project car is still under evaluation and the car will enter the production stage only after a period of atleast three years.
