The strident news in the air these days about Audi is inspiring awe, admiration or wonder for Audi fans in US. For Audi has pleasantly announced the availability of its RS5 Coupe to add to the driving pleasure of the public. However, the coupe would appear in showrooms for sale not before 2012. Also, the exact dates are not yet disclosed by the Ingolstadt based carmaker. Our only hope, the great looking S5/RS5 hits the showroom, earlier in the year. In the meanwhile, if you are a hardcore Audi fan and are looking for a way to spend some of your spare some cash, here it is. The new Audi R8 Spyder 5.2 Quattro coupe has been announced to sport a price tag of $161,000 only.
The coupe is powered by an upgraded version of the 4.2 liter V8 engine that is installed in the regular R8. The up-rated V8 engine cranks a total of 450 HP which is delivered to all the four wheels. It is a great combination of extreme power and great looks with a two door coupe body style.
The S5/RS5 coupe has a seven-speed S-Tronic dual clutch gearbox attached to the 4.2 liter V8 engine that can handle cog-swapping duties in RS5 Quattro’s all wheel drive system. The coup weighs 3,803 pounds. RS5 is capability of rocketing from 0 mph to 62 mph in as low as just 4.6 seconds. The max speed at which the coupe runs on the race tracks is measured to be 174 mph. The S5/RS5 coupe is closely similar and comparable in kind or quality as the M3 Coupe is quite a lot of aspects except that it is a little more powerful compared to the M5 coupe.
If all this is not sufficient the RS5 also tenders commendable fuel economy at 21.8 mpg in the European combined average.
