It is an inevitable fact that 3D printing is becoming the trend these days. People can make virtually anything by means of a 3D printing device. Believe it or not, some of these people from the land of China have even managed to create a car, literally, using a 3D printer, mind you! It took these Chinese guys five days to complete the creation of their 3D printed car and here it comes at last.
The 3D printed car is the result of the work carried out by a Chinese company known as the Sanya Sihai. Since it is made using 3D printing materials, it is not surprising to find out that the car is light enough in terms of its weight. The car weighs no more than 500 kg. To make it even more interesting, the car runs on electric power. Yes, this Chinese car is an electric vehicle (EV), measuring 3.6 meters in terms of length and 1.63 meters in terms of width.
Paying attention to the adjacent video, it turns out that while the exterior of the vehicle is printed using a 3D printer, the same can’t be said of the interior. As it turns out, the cabin is made using the old-fashioned method. Unfortunately, the car is not too big to accommodate more than two people on it. There are only two seats available, after all. In addition to that, the car even looks pretty shoddy as well.
In terms of performance, perhaps those thinking about trying the car should not expect too much. The thing is, 40 km/h is as quickly as the car can go. It is also still a mystery as of the moment how long the onboard batteries can power up the Chinese EV in question. This is not to mention that the technology used by most Chinese companies out there is still at a very early development stage, especially when it is compared to the one used in either US or Europe.
