Porsche Panamera has notched up impressive sales figures, something that has not gone unnoticed to other manufactures of fast luxury cars. So much that it has now lured in Bentley that is reportedly having initiated serious considerations of putting in place a car that would rival the German car. Early reports point towards a five-door fastback to the next-generation Continental range of cars might turn out to be the ideal choice to do battle with the Panamera.
A reliable source from within Bentley has reportedly said that a sporty hatch will also be less pricey than the conventional four-door sedan. Italian styling house Touring Superleggera revealed, back in March at the Geneva Motor Show, the Continental Flying Star, which is a three-door shooting brake version on the Continental GT. The sources also revealed, in context of this version of car, that Bentley would actually prefer a five-door version of car because of its practical and realistic application. The year 2012 is anticipated to witness the availability of next-generation Bentley Continental for sale.
