Bentley Silver Wings Design Study to rival the mighty Bugatti Veyron

The British carmaker Bentley, owned by Volkswagen Group had displayed a W16 powered super sports car at the 1999 Geneva Motor show. The W16 display car, which was a concept called the Hunaudières had a cab-forward design with sleek looks and was done up in British Racing Green. The concept car had more chrome than Ludacris’ Escalade.

Just like so many concept cars out there, the W16 Hunaudières also never made it being the one-off that it was. Bentley has consigned itself again with the task of making more cars for wealthy Brits and Paris Hilton.

But then two industrial design students from China, Shawn Wood and Guohua Cheng from China’s Tainjin Academy of Fine Arts took upon themselves to bring the Hunaudières back in contention. In fact, it is for these two students that have caused the Hunaudières to become alive again in the form of a design study called the Bentley Silver Wings. One of the pictures on internet spells it ‘ Filver Wings’ , but experts believe that it was a typo. Even though the Silver Wings is more of kind of hodgepodge or kind of made up of miscellaneous or incongruous ideas put together in the design with inspiration from Bentley, Zonda, Aston Martin, and Saleen, yet auto experts feel that the new hodgepodge design still has some kind of charm about it.

Many reviewers have shown interest in the Eurofighter-esque fore planes. It is here that the wheel arches / side profile along with the wing mirrors strive to match the Bentley Speed 8 Le Mans car by imitating.

However, most of the industry experts believe that it is not a repulsive design by any means.
