BMW has recently revealed some new details about the 1-Series GT.
Speaking to one of the car magazines, BMW sales and marketing chief Ian Robertson said that the Active Tourer will be the first front-wheel drive BMW, the first to use a three-cylinder engine and confirmed that it will be seen at the Geneva Motor Show next year. He went on to say that the production model will be extremely close to the Concept Active Tourer that debuted at the Paris Motor Show in 2012.
BMW did not reveal much about the specifications but has already confirmed that their 1.5-liter TwinPower Turbo three-cylinder engine will have outputs ranging from 122-224 HP (90-165 kW) in terms of petrol engines and 82-184 HP (60-135 kW) for the diesel ones. In the case of the MINI Cooper, the petrol engine generate an output of 134 hp (100 kW) while the diesel mill generates 114 hp (85 kW).
In related news, Robertson also confirmed that the front-wheel drive UKL platform will underpin at least eleven models including the 1-Series GT.
