BMW 3-Series Gran Turismo formally unmasked

After the possible disclosure of its images, BMW has at last revealed the 3-Series Gran Turismo.

With its debut at the Geneva Motor Show imminent, the 3-Series GT unites the “sedan’s dynamic, genes with the mobility and dynamism of the Touring. While the model is similar to the 5-Series GT, designers have managed to lighten some of the lines to give the hatchback a more organized appearance.
Key features include a prominent grille, frameless windows and also a sloping roofline that tapers all the way down to the rear end. There’s also a huge tailgate with an active spoiler that automatically raises at 110 km/h (68 mph) and lowers at speeds below 70 km/h (43 mph).

Like all other BMW’s, the 3-Series GT can also be equipped with different kinds of styling packages available currently. There’s also an M Sport package that puts a aerodynamic body kit, shadow line trim, a sport-tuned suspension and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Collectively, the tail gate measures 200mm longer and 81mm taller than the Touring. It also sits on a wheelbase that has been enlarged by 110mm. Inside changes are restricted, but the model has raised seating positions and an extra 70mm of back seat leg space. Moreover, the boot holds 520 liters (18.3 cubic feet) of luggage which can be increased to 1600 liters (56.5 cubic feet) when the back seats are bent down.

The sedan can be powered by one of the several engines on offer and irrespective of the engine selected it would give equally good results.
