BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe officially revealed, looks like a sleeker 3-Series sedan with rear hatch

by SpeedLux

BMW has finally taken the wraps off the 4-Series Gran Coupe as the same will be shown at the Geneva Motor Show.

The vehicle looks slightly better than the 3-Series sedan and adopts a hatchback configuration which should enable an easier access to the cargo compartment that can hold 480 liters – 35 liters more spacious than its two-door sibling. If the rear seats are folded down, there is a load capacity of 1,300 liters.

The engine lineup is pretty much the same as the 3-Series Sedan / 4-Series Coupe as 428i is powered by a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter engine rated at 240 hp (179 kW) and 255 lb-ft (345 Nm) of torque. With this engine the model is able to achieve the 0-60 mph (0-96 kmph) sprint in 5.7 seconds. Select the 435i and you get a six-cylinder 3.0-liter outputting 300 hp (224 kW) and 300 lb-ft (406 Nm) that will accelerate to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds.

Europeans also have an option to order a 420i model with 181 hp (135 kW) coming from a 2.0-liter turbo, as well as a 418d and 420d with outputs of 141 hp (105 kW) and 181 hp (135 kW) provided by a four-cylinder turbocharged 2.0-liter motor.
