BMW 6 Series Gets a New Option – All Wheel Drive: Specs and Price

by Ionut Dragomir

While there aren’t a lot of all-wheel-drive convertibles on the market, the German car maker BMW is now offering its high-end luxury coupe with all-wheel-drive system.

The 2012 BMW 6-Series, as both the coupe and convertible can now be fitted with the Bavarian xDrive all-wheel drive. This car comes with the same 4.4-liter, 400-hp V8 engine and thanks to BMW’s intelligent all-wheel drive system it will have a better traction and stability. However, this system also makes the car heavier and a bit slower, spinting from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds.

As for the pricing, the BMW 650i has a base price of $86,000, which isn’t that much considering that you get a substantial amount of kit. This kit includes Voice Command, Onboard Navigation System with Traffic Alerts, Climate Zone Ventilation, SIRIUS Satellite Radio, iPod and USB Adaptor Bang and Olufsen Surround Sound System BMW Apps. In addition to all these comes Adaptive LED Headlights, Lane Departure Warning, BMW Assist with Bluetooth Wireless Technology, Full Color Head-Up Display and, the icing on the cake, Night Vision.

Well the xDrive option on a BMW 650i Coupe isn’t very expensive being priced at just 3000 dollars and there’s no difference between it and the BMW 650i Convertible and its xDrive brethren.
